Reviews

In 1999 I was doing a gig in Jo'burg with the 'Soweto String Quartet' and asked Nigel to write something for us. This piece is inspired by their infectious rhythms from the album Zebra Crossing. Sadly we never performed it as two of the guys in the group couldn't read music! This Quartet version works well and I actually prefer the AATB combination. After an atmospheric start the work swings into a cool, laid back groove. The ending is very witty and this wee piece is a perfect encore around a grade six standard.
