Reviews

This is a cracking piece. It has an infectious and hypnotic bass line and sounds different to many other jazzy styled quartets. It has a cool west coast feel about it and is around grade seven standard. The structure of this piece is just beautiful and the ensemble writing second to none. I love the way that Chris gives a big-band feel to certain passages. It's hard to believe at times that there are only five saxes playing. With so much new music being instantly forgettable Reed Fever lingers long in the memory.
