Reed Fever

Description

This is an attractive, emotionally involved piece aimed at intermediate to advanced players who want something with a bit more depth. Based on a fascinating, harmonically conceived melody line over a rock bass ostinato, the piece unravels organically to reach a fraught climax. An open solo section gives Tenor 1 the chance to open out before the tune returns to restore calm. The piece contains many unexpected harmonic shifts typical of the composer and is immensely rewarding to play.
